Our aim if to be as fair and as accurate as possible and to see the very best of you during the interview process. We will discuss your achievements to date, to get a feel for what you are capable of in future. The interviews are standard interview format, they normally contain three components.

1. Discussion of your previous achievements
2. Case Studies
3. Discussion of current issues

You can prepare for all three of these, although it isn’t necessary to invest hours upon hours.

  1. Your previous achievements - remind yourself of these; exactly what you did, what you were responsible for, what you learnt and how you might improve. We may go into some detail. We are looking to understand your previous experience and accomplishments and to get an insight into how you think about them

  2. Case Studies - most consultancies use these in interviews. They allow us to see how you structure problems and go about solving them. We try to pick an example you will know something about as it’s not your knowledge, but how you solve problems we are interested in. Remember you can ask questions. Try practicing a few, there are a number on websites. See also our case study tips

  3. Current issues - we may ask you for a current example of something we are discussing. We are not looking for you to know the business pages chapter and verse. Just have a few interesting examples up your sleeve, to show depth of thought. A favourite example given by an interviewee, when discussing leaders in cross sales (the selling of more products to existing customers) was McDonalds - “would you like fries with that?”
